A meeting of Private Schools Association Bhaderwah was held at Bhartia Vedya Mandir School , under the chairmanship of its president Dr Mohd Iqbal Zargar for highlighting various issues confronting the private schools of Bhaderwah .“Instead of facilitating the private schools, which are spreading literacy and providing quality education without any financial assistance from the State, the Government authorities are hell bent to discourage us by issuing draconian orders and ridiculous circulars for Bhaderwah schools ,” said Dr Mohd Iqbal and lamented that despite repeated submissions by the Association, the concerned authorities in the School Education Department Doda did not pay any heed to their grievances and instead new ways and means are being discovered to harass the small schools. He alleged that in Bhaderwah some unauthorized private schools are functioning in Bhaderwah and authorities are providing feasibility report without looking in to the guidelines of the state government and article 123 which says that there should be no school within the radius of other school .He also alleged that some schools are functioning without permission and education department is in deep slumber . Sudesh Manhas general secretary of association demanded that there should be a common calendar for all schools in Bhaderwah and said that from the last one year private schools are forced by the education department to confirm the result of high schools from Chief Education Officer Doda and before that ZEO Bhaderwah was authorized and demanded order should be revoked and ZEO should be again authorized to counter sign the results and school leaving certificates . He particularly demanded minimizing the hurdles and number of formalities for private schools while obtaining recognition/affiliation. “The NOC demanded from the Private Schools functioning since decades, while obtaining recognition/affiliation, are not needed as these are required for the opening of new school or to the institution functioning in a rented building,” he explained and demanded one time recognition/ affiliation. Gulam Nabi Moghal and Yasir Hussain adviser of the association demanded from government to set fresh feasibility guidelines for opening of private schools and also threatened stir if continuous harassment were not stopped .
